Not everything and not always. Traditionally, we know the man is expected to be the one to shoulder payments and expenses, and as much as possible, I still prefer it that way, but for practical reasons, any of the two partners can pay especially if both of them earn money.

First of all, I'm truly glad that I'm lucky enough that I don't have a tita or a tito that acts that way towards me. Marites din sila and ever the curious cat, pero di naman sila ganun ka walang hiya pagnagtatanong.
For the sake of the question, though, if ever I'd have an aunt or uncle tell me that, I'd probably try to shrug it all off at first and go on my merry way, but if it gets too much already, I might just find myself walking out for good.

Like I said before, that depends on what your situation is at home. Kung maayos naman kayo, then it'll provide a good opportunity for you to spend more time with your family while you do your work there. Kung hindi, then that setup won't be so ideal for you.
