Favorite candy? Thought on horse insurance. And on Smartpak supplements
Haribo! Horse insurance is a good thing to have since horses are so accident prone! ?? we have some for Rumour but you can only insure your horse until they're 17 or something like that. Honestly I think supplements can be a waste of money to a certain extent. Your horse's diet doesn't need to be that complicated. If they have good quality forage, access to salt and water, and most people also feed some sort of grain, they shouldn't need additional supplements unless vet recommended. I think a lot of people feed supplements because it makes them feel like they're being a good horse owner but does it really make that much of a difference for the money? I'm not suuure.
There are people that are older! Everyone that actually owns a horse is around our age or older, we started riding later because we couldn't afford a horse or lessons when we were younger ?
What is one of your biggest equestrian pet peeves?
Probably how a large percentage of horse owners are so uneducated on the basic principles of horsemanship and horse care in general. I hate stupid people pretty much.
It really depends on the horse, if they are turned out with other horses and are grazing they will need to be dewormed more often than a horse that is turned out alone and is never on grass pasture, we deworm Rumour twice a year but it's really best to get a fecal egg count instead of just making up a schedule
