I would still wear tan breeches and a neutral coloured top or jacket. If your horse is a dappled grey and you don't want to wear white then I would go with black. You could have a hint of colour like mint or turquoise piping or something on your saddle pad but I would still keep it neutral.
What would you recommend wearing to a casual showjumping lesson, also to be hanging at the farm with friends after? from 8 am - 5 pm. I think i just need colour combinations but need the second opinion!
You could really wear anything you want! Breeches with a vneck or polo tucked in with a belt is always nice, then bring a sweater in case it gets cold later.
Would you pay 60 (including shipping) for synthetic half chaps? I have to order special ones from a UK website cause of a bigger and now one as my size at Dover or Smartpak, so the shipping is a lot. I can spend an extra $20 (Total $80) for leather, but I don't have the extra $20 right now though.
I think $60 from the UK sounds like a good price, but if the leather ones are only $20 more I would wait and save up for those!
Would it be weird if I wore breeches and tall boots to a western lesson? (Because my barn is an all western barn) and I really want to get some tall boots and breeches ! Thanks ?
Breeches wouldn't be weird, tall boots may be a little more unusual but if it's just for a lesson wear whatever you want!!
Thanks! I honestly do get upset but I just think positively and roll with it! Being mature is better than losing my temper over the little things! It's upsetting how many people create drama on ask though (nothing specific)! All I want to do is share stories and answer questions about PONS???
I know! It's ridiculous how a little comment about how we both love our ponies and would never sell them turns into such a shit show! Just be happy people!!! ???
Omg all the drama because Carla liked your answer ? i feel so bad for her and I actually agree with both of you two. idk why people have to turn everything around especially to nice people like her!
So many people took offense to that question, honestly it depends on your situation! Personally, I would never sell my horse! Though I also have an uncles she can stay at if Finances get rocky.
Yeah it's silly, all I said is I would never sell Rumour and the reasons why, then a couple people who I don't know thought they needed to tell me how they had to sell their horses for different reasons, I don't care! Do whatever you want with your own horse ?
Yes, I still have a pair that I wear when it's really cold out because they are warm! I find them a little slippery though but they are very cheap so you can't really complain!
When I asked your opinion on selling your horse to move up, I didn't expect you to get such a reaction, I was just curious because I see it so much in the equine world now.
Yeah I didn't either to be honest. All I said was why I wouldn't sell Rumour and people kind of took offence to that? I'm just talking about my situation, I don't need examples of all the excuses there are out there to sell your horse. It's your horse you can do what you want with it! ?
I Agree with you guys i sometimes what to sell my horse bc he's not listening but than I'm like no I could never do that!bc if I did sell him he prob would go back to his old owner and sit in a field like he did before I got him.an I love him toooo much <3
Yay ? obviously not everyone will agree with our opinion and they don't have to! Everyone is in different situations but if you love your horse and want to keep them forever that is great ?
I show casually (mainly schooling and I occasionally an A show or two) and my current horse can only do 2'6", which I've been doing for a couple years, but I don't even care. I love him to death and I'll keep him forever, even though it means never moving up in jumping height!
? that's great! I agree, if Rumour were to injury himself tomorrow and not be rideable I would still keep him, that's the responsibility you take on when you buy any animal, to care for them for their whole life! In my opinion ?
When do you think is right to get your first horse? e.g. Years of riding experience, age of rider, ability, and so on.
It really depends on the situation. If a beginner rider has lots of help from experienced horse people they could probably own a horse just fine. There really is no set number of years you should ride for before getting a horse. You should ideally be able to control the horse at all gaits, know about nutrition and basic vet care though.
