For trails it's fine if you're planning on tying your horse up at some point, there's not really any reason to leave it on otherwise

That's a pretty typical price for a show that is all weekend. Honestly horse shows are a waste of money and if you're not okay with wasting money then I would pick another sport! ?? You never know what your horse will do at a show so if you only want to spend the money because you think you're going to win you may be disappointed!

830 but usually don't get to the barn until 10 or 11 ?

Not that early, like 630? But it would be earlier if we trailered in the morning of the show but since Rumour was already there it wasn't too early!
