How much experience do you guys think you should have before you go and get a thoroughbred possibly off the track. I mean what things should you know how to do. I want to get into evening but don't have enough money to go buy a $6000 eventer.also I want to learn and get experience also.

If you want to get an OTTB you should probably have experience working with green or unbroken horses. Even then you could still be unprepared, especially if you are getting the horse straight off the track. OTTBs are used to living and being handled a certain way and if you don't understand them or aren't working closely with a trainer who has experience retraining them it might not be a good idea. If you want to learn and gain experience you would be better off leasing a horse that has some eventing experience if you can't afford to buy right now.

OK so I haven't been riding for two weeks. I took a little break. My trainer does yell a lot and I have my first lesson today. I'm just learning to canter and jump and the horse and ride has a very fast canter. And it is giving me anxiety and I'm kind of stressing out right now. I am so nervous.

Maybe ask your trainer if there is a slower horse you could ride. Or ask if you could try cantering on a lunge line first so you can just work on your position instead of having to worry about so many things at once!

I am so unmotivated to go ride and I'm honestly getting really nervous. It's kind of giving me anxiety because my parents are still paying month to month but I haven't gone in the past two weeks. I just have lost all my confidence and I know I need to get out of my comfort zone but it scares me

Riding is supposed to be fun, you should only do what you enjoy! Maybe you should try a different discipline or something and don't feel like you have to push yourself to do things you don't want to do!

Elation from greenhawk are affordable and good quality

I was thinking about getting a Dover circuit saddle what do you think? Can I use that as an all-purpose saddle? I don't want to spend a ton of money on a saddle and I'm getting my first horse soon.

Yeah that sounds fine

How to get a horse to trot in hand without throwing a fit?

I'm not sure lol use a halter with a chain over their nose so you have more control maybe

What kind of blanket should I get for my horse? It only gets down to the 40s at night and like 60s-70s during the day, (I wouldn't use it during the day only at night)

Probably a light weight if you don't clip your horse and a medium weight if you do clip

English saddle pad question: idk if u have seen them but I think they're called square pads or something. They have no straps or anything and they're literally just a big square when it's out flat. I was wondering (before I use it) if there's a front or back to it. Theres no curves or anything on it

I think you're talking about a baby pad, it doesn't matter which way you put it
