I really want to vlog my summer camp, but I'm afraid of being annoying & I'm not ready to let people there know about my channel cause I feel like they'll think I'm just a know it all, and think lowly of me.

You could just try and see how it goes! Maybe ask the other girls if they want to be in your video! I'm sure everyone will be taking pictures/videos anyways they don't need to know that it's for your YouTube channel :)

Ok I have a q. My trainer and one of the girls who runs the lesson programs every single week talk about being hungover and how they didn't sleep. And I'm like hello I'm paying a fortune for a private lesson with you and you're talking about that? Would this make you switch barns?

Yeah I would move barns, that is really unprofessional not to mention extremely annoying!

..do you think it would be ok to talk to either the school horse manager or one of the people in the office about my concerns? obviously ik it will get back to my trainer but if i just candidly speak with them about feeling unsafe? or is it better not to go "behind her back"

I would just talk to your trainer directly, if you don't feel comfortable about it maybe get your mom or someone else to do it :P

thank you for not making me feel like i was being over dramatic! haha i didnt want to be overreacting to having my first fall. luckily im in san diego so if i want to ride with a new trainer there are a ton of options, but im super conflicted because up until now, everything has been going well..

:) I would just talk to your trainer and let her know how you feel.

How did you guys pick your new barn? I'm ready to change barns but it's hard to know the best place to go, and I can't ask any personal recommendations in our area since my only horsey people are the trainers/staff at my current barn.

You could google barns in your area and go take a lesson to see how you like them. Also if you go to some horse shows to watch you can see some of the students of trainers in your area and the type of horses you might get to ride. There aren't many barns in our area so it wasn't hard for us to find ours haha

to the girl with the hip fracture from being on no stirrups - i definitely suggest you find a new trainer. yes every trainer has different techniques but it's not a good sign that she was ignoring you not being comfortable in the first place. your safety is so important while learning fundamentals!

Yeah a hip fracture is a pretty serious injury for someone so young also!

How high have u jumped?

3 feet, but that was only one time and it was a single oxer at the end of a grid, we usually jump 2'6 or 2'9 regularly

The first time I rode Devin my trainer took away my stirrups before I cantered hahahaha

Cool. The girl who asked the question has not even been riding for a year though :/

i definitely wasnt ready to be doing no-stirrup sitting trot on a bouncy horse who was new to me! do you think i was pushed too hard or am i just being sensitive? sorry this is long and thanks so much for answering!!

Yeah I think your trainer could have used better judgement. I know my trainer would never make me do no stirrup work the first time I rode a new horse.

then he kind of got a little crazy and i couldnt halt him. i started bouncing all over and as i was falling my trainer yells "dont fall!" lol like thanks?? but yeah i fell and fractured my hip. im probably being super sensitive bc it was my first fall and it was scary, but now i feel a little iffy b

.

when i mounted he started getting a little rowdy and i was nervous being on a new horse and i told her. she said to stay calm and give him loose rein, and then we went over my foot placement in dresage saddle. she wanted me to learn sitting trot and after a few min she told me to do it w/o stirrups

.

...about how the person in the office messed up the horse list. i was like ok thats fine right? im still on (new horse?) and she said yes hes super sweet just has some problems with tendons so youll only do walk/trot, and he has a dressage saddle so (my trainer) will tell you about the saddle diff..

.

sorry if this is long! but i wanted to get your guys' opinions. so this morning i had my first fall (started riding in september/october and take weekly or biweekly lessons). i rode a different horse for the first time in months, and the girl who is the school horse manager was saying something...

.

How do you make barn friends?

I don't know! Lol tell them their horse is cute and ask them how their lesson went!?

What's your typical riding outfit? :)

Ralph Lauren V neck, tailored sportsman breeches, tailored sportsman belt, ariat paddock boots and half chaps, roeckl or ssg gloves.

What brands of breeches do you have ? Fav one ?

We only have Tailored Sportsmans so those are our favourites :) but we do want to try the Piper breeches from Smartpak.

What brand and style of shirt do you wear schooling everyday ?

Usually an Asmar long sleeve or a Ralph Lauren v neck t-shirt.

What's wrongnwith 2 in 1 cleaner? That's what I used, and it's only been once but from what I can tell it's great.

I just don't like it, at least the one that I've used leaves a coating on the leather making it very difficult to oil it properly and it leaves it feeling sticky. If you like yours though then you should use it!

What shows are you planning on taking rumour to this year?:)

None! We will probably start showing next year, but we might do one or two in the fall depending on how things go haha

Ohh and for the boots my horse is white so do i have to use special product? Because im using a 2 in 1 and it make black spot on my horse?

That's weird I wouldn't think a 2 in 1 would do that. Definitely make sure you only polish the outside of the boot and not the part that touches the horse or saddle.

What do you look forward to most this year?

The Mane Event, going to the Harry Potter theme park, fall & winter!!!
