Do you like the hdr mono crown bridle

I've never seen one in person but HDR makes their tack out of nice quality leather and I like mono crown pieces so it sounds great to me!

I totally get what you are saying and I agree 100% both the horses I have I bought and in the agreement I had to be their forever home and I'm okay with that because they are my family and I do know it's not financially possible for some people but it's really just my opinion ?

??That's great! Part of affording a horse is paying for their retirement, it can be expensive but more people should realize that before they buy a horse.

I understand what you're saying, but Mory had a condition called epsm and my barn couldn't accomidate for his needs, so I wasn't just going to pay $600 per month for him to sit in a stall, so he went back to his old owner where he was in great care and full turnout for seven years before I got him.

I mean that's great that you did what's best for the horse I'm just saying if it were me I would just board my horse somewhere cheaper that had full turn out so I could still keep and care for the horse myself. To each their own.

I get what you're are saying and I agree with you to a certain extent, but you have to see it from the competitive side of the sport. When you can no longer grow with them, you have to do something, and you can't always afford to keep them. It's sad but not everyone is lucky to have a well payingjob

Yes. I'm not saying no one should ever sell their horse cause obviously that's stupid and when you are trying to be competitive that just comes with the territory. It's probably actually worse to keep a horse you gave outgrown and try to push them farther than they are able to perform. I'm just not that interested in competing so keeping Rumour for his whole life isn't a huge problem for me.

I did make sure a contract was sign that I was to get first offer back so he could either be taken home or PTS if I thought he was in any pain. He raced for 9 years with 200 starts.

Yes when you buy ex race horses there are bound to be injuries that show up. I'm sure it's very difficult and can get very expensive. That's good that they signed a contract. ? it seems like your doing what's best for the horse.

(Cont) a horse for her boyfriend who would get ridden once every couple weeks which he was perfect for so I gave him away. Don't judge unless you are in that sort of situation. Unless you have experienced the heartbreak, it's not an easy decision. Not everyone has the luxury of keeping a horse forev

I understand that it's not an easy decision and horses are expensive. I'm sure you did what you thought was best but for ME I wouldn't even give my horse to a friend because you never know what will happen and they might not be able to keep the horse and you have no control who the horse goes to after that. Im not judging you I just would not personally do the same. I would gladly work a couple more shifts a month to ensure Rumour could live out his days being cared for. Again not saying yours won't it's just an opinion.

I had to give away my first horse to a semi retirement home as he was raced to hard when he was raced and I never knew he had tendon injuries when I bought him. I spent $$$$$ on training him only to be retired as a trail horse. I couldn't afford two horses and I knew my friend was looking for (cont)

..

??? I AGREE 100%

?? I feel like once I get an animal I will never sell it for fear of what someone else might do! Animals are so vulnerable and there are so many irresponsible pet owners out there!!

Why are you so sure you'd never sell Rumour? You never know for sure..

Well first because he is the best horse ever!!! He is also already like part of the family, which might be weird to say about a horse but yeah, you don't sell your family members. Also the only reason to sell him would be when he gets too old to ride or his arthritis gets too bad to jump which really bothers me when people do that! If a horse gives you a bunch of good years of their life and as soon as they aren't useful to you anymore you try to give them away it just doesn't sit right with me. I feel as a horse owner it's your responsibility to give them a proper retirement where they are cared for. It's the 20 year old horses that people give away for free or cheap once they aren't useful that end up being passed off from home to home and end up in slaughter!!! I could rant about that forever but I won't!! ?

What are some other western rider accounts on here?

I don't know! The only ones I know are Bridlepaths and equineguru08

Opinion on people selling their horses to move up? Would you ever do it?

If you want to be competitive it's sometimes required, but I would never sell Rumour! Or any horse that I will own in my life, you never know what will happen to them! You may sell them to someone who seems nice, but they can sell them again to someone else who may not be the most desirable home, I just think it's a bit of a risky situation ?

I tried on a Samshield the other day, and it was so comfy ? I have a big head (7 1/2??) and it fit so nicely! To be honest, I don't like the looks of them, but if it comes down to safety, I might get one! ?

I know I really prefer the look of the GPAs but they don't really cover very much of your head in comparison to the samshield ? samshield is cheaper, more comfortable, and probably safer so it seems like the logical option even though I'm not totally in love with them ? #equestrianproblems

Opinion on Samshields?

I feel like they are a bit round looking but they are more comfortable than GPAs and they seem like they would protect your head more, we will probably end up getting some of those.

Do you think two friends (not sisters) could share a horse without issues?

I think that would be difficult. You would have to have a contract written out in regards to how you will split the bills, what would happen if the horse got seriously injured, who would get to take it to which shows, you would both have to agree on the barn you want to keep it at. Also what would happen if one person didn't want the horse anymore? Would the other person have to buy the rest of the horse from them? It would get confusing I think.

How much larger is the FL brim compared to say the speed air?

I don't know probably like triple the size, you can look at a picture.

Thoughts on the GPA First lady?

I want one really bad! But when I tried it on it wasn't very comfortable so that's a dilemma.

Is sharing a horse easy? What challenges are there with it?

Yes for us it is. There aren't really any challenges besides the fact that we can't ride together.

My horse will only keep his head collected if go in smaller/larger circles and when we go one the rain he will not keep his head collected ??do you have any tips?

Well there could be a lot of things contributing to it. It really shouldn't be about your horses head, it's more about feeling when your horse is light and carrying themselves independently. If you feel like it falls apart when you go down the long side it could be because your horse is building and getting heavier without you even noticing it. Try doing frequent half halts while keeping your leg on, also play with the bit to keep from holding and keep them light. It's hard to know if that is really the problem though because there could be a lot of reasons it's happening.
