I'm thinking of getting a quarter sheet to use on my lease horse. I already have a cooler but I sorta want a quarter sheet to use while riding him in the winter when it's really cold. What do you think? Do you guys use a quarter sheet on Rumour?
We don't have a quarter sheet for Rumour, a lot of the girls at our barn just use a regular cooler and kind of drape it around the saddle, it's only good for walking around though or it would probably fall off unless you put it under your legs.

I have trouble getting the correct amount of strides in a line, I don't know whether to slow down or speed up. My horse would never refuse she just chips really badly. Any tips?
You should just go with whatever canter you come in with, if the horse gets a long spot at the first jump and is more forward you should go with the on stride, if they chip the first jump or are just under the pace than go with the add. If they chip the first jump but still have enough canter then put your leg on right after the first jump and you should be able to make the on stride ?
