What is laminitis and what is founder and how are they different?

You'd have to do more research about it but basically laminitis is inflammation of the soft tissue inside the horse's hoof. If it's not treated it can lead to founder which is when the coffin bone rotates or protrudes through the sole of the horse's hoof. Which is obviously very painful and in most cases the horse will have to be put down if the bone actually goes through the sole.

OK so I am thinking about getting my own horse I don't know if I should do a bib and belly clip or a trace clip. It will most likely be outside on pasture board 24 seven but I will have a blanket/sheets on it and it will have a run in shed I will be riding 3 to 5 days a week

Probably a trace clip

Wait so deworming horses is different from deworming dogs? I thought you would just go ahead and get it all round dewormer and deworm them whatever it would say every month or every six months. You have to get a fecal test and then see what your vet recommends?

You don't have to get a fecal test but it's a good idea so you know what sort of worms your horse has before you treat them. I wouldn't deworm more than twice a year unless recommended by your vet because the worms can start becoming resistant to the medication if you use it too often.

How are horses measured? And how many inches is in one hand? Could you please give me a example I don't understand how horses could be 16.2 hands how does that even work?

There are 4 inches in a hand. So if a horse is 16.2 they are 16 hands and 2 inches. People always say weird things like their horse is 15.5 or something but it only ever goes up to .3 and then your horse moves up to the next hand high. If that makes sense. (14, 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 15, 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 16 etc)

To keep your own with horse healthy you just need to get shots, annual check ups with your vet, deworm, float teeth, trim hooves. Am I missing anything?

Nope I think that's it. You'll also need to clean their sheath if you have a gelding and then there's elective things like chiropractors and massage therapists if your horse needs that sort of thing.

Do you deworm your horse or do you pay your vet? What kind do you use?

We do it. Quest plus in the fall and Eqvalan gold in the spring.

What kind of boots do you ride in? Then what boots do you do your barn work in?

Ariat Heritage Contour Field boots, Dubarry Galway boots or Hunters

Should I buy a quarter sheet? I mean what's the point of getting one? Don't you have to get on and off to use it before and after riding?

They're not completely necessary, you can half throw it on before you get on or hang it off a jump or something so you can grab it when you're on ? you can take it off while you're on the horse too.

Boobs are so annoying gahh they just make me hunch all of the time

I don't got that probably because my boobs are tres small ??

When you were going to try horse do you bring your own tack? Should you ask all the questions in person? I have about 35 questions that I want to ask is that a lot? Should I get on the horse first or the owner or my trainer? for a vet check should I go ahead and do that while I have the horse trial?

No use their tack, just bring your helmet, I would ask some questions before you go to try the horse so you know it's worth your time, the owner/trainer should ride first, you should get the vet check done as soon as you know you want to buy it, a lot of people don't offer trials.

macbook pro or air and why? :))

MacBook Pro, if you want it for video editing and stuff the macebook air doesn't have a big enough processor so it might get slow after awhile. If you just use it for going on the internet and for photos etc. the air would be perfectly fine!

I am very self conscious about my weight because I weigh 54 kg when the average for my age is 47. What should i do, I like this guy and I feel like it make me less attractive. I want to look good ?

If you're under 120lbs you are definitely thin enough/do not need to lose weight, if a boy doesn't like you because you're 10lbs heavier than someone else then that's their problem ??

how much were your show fees at thunderbird?

I can't remember, I think around $500-$600, that was for stabling for 3 days, 1 warmup round and 6 classes I think, that didn't include coaching fees or trailering so it was pretty expensive for a schooling show ?

You guys should upload a video about your barn being built! I miss seeing your videos!

Yes we will for sure! I miss making videos tooooo I want to quit my job so I have more time ????
