Siapa bilang gue gak beragama? Dengan gue beragama pun, bukan berarti gue gak boleh menghormati orang lain yang tidak beragama kan? Atau merasa diri gue lebih baik, lebih suci, lebih sempurna dibanding mereka yang tidak memeluk agama.

Its never easy to be perceived as minorities. There's a lot of people will hate you for no reason and just based on the fact you was born as a Chinese descent, or gay. Being both means double the discrimination and prejudice in this country. What hurt me the most are the fact people will hate me for the way I born, not because my attitude or faults. When I grew up, I always thinking what is wrong with me? How could I born this way? I'm starting to hate myself and its became the trigger of my general depression until this day, to be honest. To be perceived as sinful person who will instantly go to hell is scary. I was angry. I was angry with society, God, and most of the time to myself. I started to believe I am bad person and that's the time when I stop praying to God. I like to think myself as open minded but in fact there was a time I'm so uncomfortable in my own skin and I judge people so easily, especially the typical flamboyant gays. I think I'm just kinda envy with their openness and how they're already embrace themselves. It takes a long time until I finally realize, the very first thing to feel happy, is accepting yourself. People think coming out to other people is hard, but the hardest one is actually to came out to yourself. Along the way, I found friends who embrace me the way I am and the work environment that actually not discriminating. I was lucky I could be myself in that one aspect of my life. I never stop learning to love myself until this very day, and there's something always held me back in term of relationship. I don't wanna lie to my dearest mom, but I haven't ready to talk with her. I don't think I could fully accept myself before I finally talk with her.

I'm sorry I'm rambling about myself. I can't help but remember my own life when I watching the video. And I feel he's such an inspiration. He reminds us to believe ourselves and follow our passion. He's lucky to have that family figure who really supportive. And before you could love anyone else, you must love yourself first, and its never easy, whether your straight or gay. People are people, no matter what the skin colors, religions, gender, or sexual orientation. Don't judge, because we haven't know their stories.
