Halo, Mas Alex. Aku mau nanya deh untuk tata cara editing suatu majalah apa saja sih yg harus diperhatikan. Dari hypenation, hingga typonya, lalu adakah ketentuan kalau misalnya italic digunakan pada saat English words. Aku lagi edit majalah kampus dan aku mau ini tuh perfectly edited hehe. Thanks!
Kalau untuk majalah kampus yang isi dan gaya bahasanya resmi, emang harus diperhatikan sih EYD-nya. Yang harus diedit, make sure to read every damn words, cari yang typo, kata baku vs tidak baku, penggunaan tanda baca, preposisi (masih banyak banget yang gak bisa bedain "Di" sebagai kata depan atau kata pasif), pemakaian huruf besar, penulisan nominal, dan ya kalau ada istilah asing harus di-italic. Intinya semuanya sebetulnya ada di pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang kita pelajarin dari SD sampai SMA for granted, karena kita mikirnya ini bahasa yang kita pakai sehari-hari, tapi pada kenyataannya masih banyak orang Indonesia yang gak bisa bahasa Indonesia secara tertulis dan akademis, even dalam konteks2 sederhana. Wikpedia Bahasa Indonesia is your bestfriend. Sampai sekarang gue juga masih suka google to make sure beberapa hal dan masih banyak hal-hal yang didebatin juga di Bahasa Indonesia dalam beberapa hal. Gue punya satu file MSWord yang isinya aturan EYD secara concise buat pedoman, kalau kamu mau, I could send it to your email.
Gue orangnya perfeksionis, dari awal masuk di majalah sampai sekarang, gue selalu membaca semua tulisan sampai setitik-titiknya dari cover sampai halaman terakhir. It was tedious karena mata gue bisa sampe jereng bacain semua huruf but at the same time it is one of my zen moments. Kadang momen favorit gue dalam ngerjain edisi baru adalah ngedit semua tulisan yang sudah di-lay out, because I'm so focused on it I forgot my other problems in life, haha. And its pissed me off kalau gue nemu typo di majalah yang udah jadi. Lucunya pas majalahnya udah selesai dicetak dan udah di tangan gue, gue udah males bacanya because I already read them all so many times.

Even though its not directed by Indonesian, this film talk about the dark history in Indonesia.
A middle-aged Indonesian man, whose brother was brutally murdered in the 1965 purge of "communists," confronts the men who carried out the killings. Out of concern for his safety, the man is not fully identified in the film and is credited only as "anonymous," as are many of the film's crew positions. Some shots consist of the man watching (what seems to be) extra footage fromThe Act of Killing, which includes video of the men who killed his brother. He visits some of the killers and their collaborators—including his uncle—under the pretense of an eye exam. Although none of the killers express any remorse, the daughter of one of them is clearly shaken when she hears, apparently for the first time, the details of the killings.

What are the things you used to be insecure now, but now are one of the things you're proud of?
Being a virgin. It used to bother me because I feel some social pressure around me, and how society think its sucks to be a virgin in your twenties... Like somehow it made you looks unwanted, freak, and being a loser... somehow you'll think about it and feel down.
But again, for me personally, I'm not afraid of the sex itself, I just don't have the urge to just do it for a sake of doing it, you know what I mean? I don't wanna have sex with random people just because society told me to. I feel like I haven't found the right person yet and that's it. So many people around me says that I'm merely chasing a dream and try to persuade me that sex itself an experiment or rite of passage to be an adult, that I should just do it and learn from the eventual heartbreak whatsoever which probably true but then I realize maybe I just don't wanna really grow up, maybe its my peter pan syndrome that make me subconsciously resist sex because I know once I did it, I would change and never go back to my old self.
Or maybe, I just don't think its the most important thing in the world. I'm not a frigid or asexual, I have a sexual urge quite often but I don't think I need to grab a random person to sleep with me. Maybe I'm just a prude and conservative, or maybe I simply don't wanna do it without love.
In the end of the day, I don't think being a "virgin" or "single" define me as a person.
