I think it's actually pretty decent for CR, except for how they didn't even try to reflect Yoko's accent. Chihiro does do the accent but they do lots of other things I dislike (eg the whole fumi-e line) so I doubt I'll bother waiting for them.

Well, I haven't even done it myself, so all I can suggest is to play around with MaskDetail until you figure it out or ask Helltilt, who did the actual encodes (and is from a non-English group himself). In fact, as far as I know this whole technique (including the MaskDetail filter) was invented by the Italian fansub scene.

It is literally impossible for anyone but Nyaa to assign trusted to a user with under twenty uploads so maybe you should ask him?

If you want a standard encoding method, join the Western TV scene where everyone is expected to encode things the same crappy way. Here we recognise approaches generally differ on a case by case basis.
Is not being a native English speaker a disadvantage in becoming an editor? I'm from Continental Europe, but I can read/speak/write fluently (at least decently, imo).
It kinda is, but I know several who are more qualified editors than most natives.
