Yes, he actually died. It was pretty sudden - I was talking to him just last week, and he'd signed up for a bunch of shows this coming season. He had a serious heart condition, though, and open-heart surgery's no joke.
Dozo was relentlessly cheerful and optimistic despite his disability, and he brightened up all the groups that were lucky enough to have him. He was taken from us far too soon and will be sorely missed by many people all over the world.
