>VLC works too! But it doesn't. It literally cannot render advanced typesetting. Play ITW's NouCome with VLC if you want to point and laugh at an inferior media player.

That's probably because of libass or whatever too.

I googled the error and it's apparently an old madVR bug. Is everything updated? Try installing everything manually if you're using KCP. - Who is your favourite seiyuu, Xythar?

Miyuki Sawashiro, probably .
This is why I still recommend CCCP on my releases, btw - it Just Works

>100% zoom >optimize subtitle quality for performance instead of quality on >rendering subs to video size >try to take screenshot >receive error message http://puu.sh/fKVkZ/7b10d10b86.PNG I'm telling you, nothing will make subs show up in the ss. Resolution change for subs won't help. Hi Xythar!

I don't use any of this shit so I don't really care. Still running stock CCCP with madVR installed on top, no complaints on my end.

Do you think you can explain why Tomoya in SaeKano is called Rinri-kun? Why is his nickname 'Mr Ethical'?

It's just a mocking name that Utaha gives him (not sure if they've explained why yet beyond him being a loser). Tomoya (倫也) and ethics (倫理) have the same first character.
It doesn't really work in English I guess.

No seriously, fucking nothing will show the subs in screenshots. It's very handy if that's what you want. Trust me, I've changed everything everyone has told me to change in madvr and xysub and nothing will work. Xythar do you like anons communicating through your ask?

It boosts my answer count so sure why not

>subs will never ever show in screenshots because it's bugged - Turn on "optimize subtitle quality for performance instead of quality" in madVR (under trade quality for performance). Make a profile (right click the rendering folder > create profile group) to toggle it with a hotkey

k

For the guy with screenshot issues, just download the latest KCP with xysubfilter. Everything works nicely and you can chose your subs resolution etc and no matter what you try subs will never ever show in screenshots because it's bugged.

Sounds like a handy feature.

How long does it take you to download a BDMV?

To my seedbox/server, usually like 10 minutes. To my local computer, more like 12 hours.

what are you watching this season?

See attached picture of my RSS subscriptions in uTorrent. Guessing what they mean is part of the challenge!

>people wanting to do away with FLAC. Why do poorfags with shit audio setups try and ruin everything?

I'm no audiophile myself, so I don't really care. I only ever include FLAC for other people.

Having to turn the subs on and off is what I'm trying to avoid because that gets tedious. I just want to be able to hit f5 and have the shot save subless. I'm using default CCCP, and I thought there might just be a way of doing that somehow, but I guess not.

I guess so

why are anime usually encoded to 720p when it usually aired at 1080i?

Most anime isn't produced any higher, TV broadcasts generally do not sustain that resolution very well at the bitrates supplied, and watching anime at 1440x1080 isn't very easy on the eyes. You either have to upscale it horizontally (a no-no) or flag it as anamorphic (which makes it a pain to sub). Either way, it's generally not worth it unless you're subbing Grisaia or something.

Do you know if there's a way to take screenshots in MPC-HC where it ignores the subs so that the shots are always subless? I take a lot of screenshots, but I usually don't want the subs in the picture.

Turn them off before taking the screenshot, basically. I'm not sure MPC-HC can even exclude them from the screenshot if you're using an external sub renderer.
