Waremete was extremely underrated, the last few episodes were great.
Indeed.
Are you watching any of the 4 fantasy harems this season? If yes, which one do you think is the best?
Nope.
Can pseudo-anonymous releases get trusted, or does that cancel out being trusted?
If the account that submitted them is trusted, yes.
Is waramete even worth it? I dropped it off after like 3 eps because no one was doing it and it was QUALITY everywhere.
Sleeper hit of last season, imo.

I was quite okay with them for Waremete, to be honest.
Yeah, I know about the other issue. Just thought it would at least be nice to have the colors under control for those times when you have not much choice than watching a Funi release. Also, this is the result with your example: http://a.pomf.se/yjkdgb.png
Hm, guess it works then
After playing a little bit around, I figured out how to fix the Funimation colors effortlessly. It's not identically, but comes pretty close. What do you think? http://a.pomf.se/hacqky.png
Try it on a darker scene than that, for instance the one I used here http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison.php?id=107930The main problem with Funi's video (at least, at the default input range) is that blacks get "crushed", resulting in loss of detail (you can see how a lot of details in the dark background just vanish into the darkness, like the book on the right). I have a feeling that your method will just change the brightness/contrast of the resultant image without doing anything to fix the crushed blacks (it'll just replace them with crushed greys). You need something that operates on the input, not the output... I think. By the way, the main issue with Funi's (and CR's) Yurikuma video isn't the colours/contrast, but the scaling. It was obviously deinterlaced at 1080p with a simple bob / row doubling and then scaled from that, which turns all the onscreen text into a jaggy, aliased mess and fucks up the lineart (especially obvious in motion). It's a Media Factory thing.
Translations weren't quite up to standard, apparently. It is a rather difficult show, though.
watashi or asenshi?
They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Pick whichever you prefer stylistically.
I'm watching Funi for Yurikuma because I think this is their best TL/ED job in a long, long while. What did the reviewers say about it?
It wasn't looked at because HS can't get A+ and none of the fansubbers are using their script. I haven't been watching them myself past the first episode or two because their video for this show is eyecancer, but I remember a few Japanese-speaking enthusiasts I know being somewhat critical of their TL for being lazy and not really using the best terms (like "I'll ruin bears" or something). It doesn't really matter for me either way because I can't stand the video.Their best TL/ED job in a long while is totally Ushinawareta Mirai though.
yuri kuma review when?
already happened, no A+
Just wondering, when does PP2 BD2 come out?
Whenever Jing QCs it. Hopefully tonight?
Is ITW's Noucome actually accurate TL wise or a fun sub/rewrite?
I wouldn't call it a rewrite, since it doesn't flat-out ignore the original dialogue at all times, but it does take about as many liberties as it is possible to take. It certainly gets the spirit of the show across and does a much better job than CR at translating a lot of the jokes, though.
What is the oldest currently active fansub group in the scene, and which active fansubber has been doing it the longest?
No idea. I've only been around for a few years myself.

re: flac to aac; your ffmpeg probably needs to be recompiled with aac support (something something non-free etc) if you can't find a proper encoder when running ffmpeg -formats (look for a capital E). Probably libfdk-aac. Or without ffmpeg, flac -cd input.flac | fdkaac -Rm5 -o output.aac -
