Because of chroma subsampling. Most h264 encodes are in 4:2:0 which means they sample the chroma (colour) at half the resolution of the brightness (luma) which for the most part isn't that noticeable but is particularly apparent with reds. It might also be your player not upscaling the chroma to your display very intelligently (try installing madVR and see if it looks any better with the better quality scaling options)
See, I fully agree that Funi's subs are full of laughable lines and decisions. That's why I stopped watching them pretty quickly. Why do you keep putting yourself through that sort of pain? (It's not really just to get screenshots to tweet, right?)

I don't really have time to do 10 shows a season anymore. | How many of those you edited too? And how hard is it to keep consistent with all the terms etc if you work on so many shows? How is it even possible to keep track of everything? lol
I don't really remember but my max for editing was probably like 6-7. I always had stuff to QC, encode, etc on top of that, though.
I dunno, I just keep it in my head and search past scripts if I'm in doubt. Some people like to keep text files with terminology notes and stuff but I'm not that organised.
