Do you think Roman Reigns winning the Royal Rumble was the right decision?

I didn't watch it, so I have no idea, but the popular opinion sure seems to be "no"

I mean in real life. Like, you could fansub and not tell anyone!

Kinda hard when you do this much of it, but no, not really.

Did Kirakira remove the kfx? Also, they have nothing to do with Kira-fansubs, right?

From screenshots, it looks like it's still there. And no, I don't think so.

Do BD encodes need to meet a certain standard to get A+? For instance, CGi's Gochuumon was slightly better quality than Vivid's tv release, but still shit for a BD. Is that why it didn't get A+ despite being better?

I don't think anyone's really reviewed Gochiusa in depth yet. If anything it sounds like Kirakira might be the best, but I haven't looked at it. The TV release was already pretty good visually (encoded from a good source) so I don't really feel like a BD release is all that urgently needed anyway.

Also, could you ask unanimated to get an ask.fm account? I'm too scared to go on irc to ask him things.

I feel like ask.fm isn't really his scene.

>Dunno, I guess I'm just getting old. lol, so wisdom that comes with age, eh? Are there any fansubbers older than you?

A bunch, yeah. __ar is like one year older than me, unanimated is older by an unspecified amount, and Collectr is in his sixties. There are a few more here and there too.

What's the safest choice for Expelled from Paradise? Is Vivid even doing it still?

Safest choice is to wait for official subs. I wouldn't recommend anything else at this point.
No progress has been made on it in months, so the project is probably dead. It may revive if there's no sign of official subs on the horizon for a long time, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

>[Kristen] You honestly think I care enough about twintails to scene filter? This is LITERALLY the person who goes on about how "Cartel" groups don't care about their releases and only Chihiro does.

Yeah, funny how that works.

>kristen. All you had to say was that Kristen was involved.

That was my original answer, but I thought the chat excerpt might be a little more enlightening

>http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/108150/picture:1 >group dedicated exclusively to BD releases. Jesus Christ, how does that even happen?

[Kristen] I admit when I mess up there. I don't admit when a filter acted differently on certain scenes than on the ones I based the filtering on
[Xythar] this may come as a shock to you, but if you apply a filter to the entire video, you have to check it against the entire video
[Xythar] if you don't want to do that, scene filter.
[Kristen] You honestly think I care enough about twintails to scene filter?

My bad. I meant "where you've hardly edited the script"*

Oh. Depends on your definition of "hardly", but a fair few, I guess. Least edited was probably lyger's Gochiusa translation, but I didn't really change that much in Amaburi either (especially funny when you consider how everyone blames me for all the stuff in that). Least edited simulcast script was probably Hanayamata or something.

Has there ever been a show whether it be simulcast or by translators, where you've already edited the script?

wat

>that nyaa link. Jesus Christ, that has to be a troll, there's no way someone's that stupid.

Nothing on the internet shocks me in that regard anymore.
