Cool, thanks for clarifying. Oh and speaking of Twintails, is it true that Jaka will delay his rips? Not the first time it happens but it's still quaint, I guess. Either way, wouldn't touch a Funi rip with a ten foot pole.

I guess that's up to him!

Hmmm, is it Kaylith then? herkz said Commie won't be doing it...maybe Underwater?

I'm not editing Gugure for anyone, if that's what you're asking. Right now my plans are Amagi and Twintails, with Akame and SMC continuing and UBW still up in the air.

I bet you regret making this ask.fm lol. You always get "Will X group do this" "Are you doing this?" Etc. Doesn't it get annoying?

For the most part, I don't really mind.

What's your opinion on arguments that happen on the Internet? I think people have a tendency to resort to ad hominems and to display awful reading comprehension.

That sounds about right, yes.

What are the shows you enjoyed subbing most in 2014?

It's a bit early for that, isn't it? 2014 isn't even over yet.

Are you a fan of Super Smash Bros.?

I used to play it a lot back in the day, though my interest has kind of waned since Melee or so.

Should I bother waiting for UTW to maybe release UBW or should I just grab Commie for now?

I've gotten a few of these questions so I'll answer them in general here.
UBW is still up in the air. Aniplex's script is already pretty good, so we're deciding whether we'd contribute enough to be worth putting out a release. It's really not the same without Raze, so I'm not sure myself yet. I'd kinda like to, but I don't want to drag everyone else behind me if they're not enthusiastic.
Either way, I have a lot of other things on my plate right now, so I doubt you'll see anything until later in the week if it gets subbed at all. I'd just grab one of the other releases in the meantime because UBW is pretty damn amazing no matter whose subs you use.

Why was Symphogear stalled for so long?

ep13 of the show? Stalled at the translator.
BDs? Stalled at the encoder.

Is it just me, or are translations of VNs terrible in comparison to their anime counterparts? Personally, I couldn't enjoy F/SN because of its poor translation.

It's a lot harder to find good translators who are willing to commit one or more years to translating a single VN, especially when VNs themselves are much less popular than anime.

How can you tell bad translations from good ones if "your level isn't near high enough"?

I base my decisions on advice from people who I trust, of course.
It's also fairly easy to spot a bad translation if the whole thing is written in nonsensical Engrish, though this doesn't cover every case.

Do you read English translations of VNs?

Sometimes, yeah. I'd rather be reading everything in Japanese, but my level isn't anywhere near high enough to read all the stuff I want to.
I try to avoid bad translations though because there is really nothing to be gained from using them.

Is WIXOSS fun to watch? What anime would you compare it to?

Madoka or Gen'ei, though it's not nearly as good as Madoka. Similar kind of "outwardly a kid's show at first until DARK TWIST" idea though.
It's good fun. The storyline isn't anything too special but the visuals, direction, and music are all really good.

What's your response to people who say that editing simulcast scripts isn't "real fansubbing"?

They're free to call it what they like, really. It doesn't change what we do.
I think putting out a high-quality product is more important than the label you slap on it.

Any idea who's gonna be doing Gundam G? Also, lol @ Volleyball delaying Amagi.

No idea, sorry.
And yes, I am annoyed.
