Yeah, I mostly play at the arcade. We have most of the above but sadly no Pop'n in Melbourne anymore so I don't really play it much these days.

Quite a few. I've had the most experience with Beatmania IIDX, but I've also played a lot of DDR/ITG and Pop'n Music and a decent amount of Guitarfreaks, Drummania, jubeat, Reflec Beat, and the other Bemani stuff, as well as quite a lot of DJMax (especially Technika). I've also played a lot of random non-Konami music games like the Project Diva series, Frequency and Amplitude, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, Cross Beats and a bunch of other iOS games, and various minor/oldschool games like Parappa and Gitaroo Man.
But I mostly play Bemani these days since DJMax is dead (RIP) and the other games are at best brief diversions.

What's your opinion of Doki, anyway? Particularly how they do that shit where they sell BDs, mousemats, that sort of stuff. Reckon it's kind of dodgy buying it from them rather than from Japanese manufactures which would in turn support the actual industry?
Probably. I wasn't even aware they did that because I don't pay a lot of attention to their blog etc to begin with.

The two TBS shows next season (Amagi Brilliant Park and Twintails) sound like fun. Beyond that, mostly just continuing split-cour stuff, though I imagine I'll find some other cool shows when they air.

Why do you think so few groups sub h-anime, and why those that do are so poor and seemingly backwards in how they do things? Is it just due to a lack of interest from subbers compared to standard anime? I know FFF and UTW had off-shoots for subbing hentai anime, but it seems they've been abandoned.
Lack of interest is probably the main thing. Beyond that, the standards (and priorities) are just much lower, I guess? Not like people fap to typesetting, and hentai isn't exactly known for being wonderfully written or animated. I doubt much of it needs subs at all.

I don't always listen to music, but when I do, it's Japanese.

"Hate" isn't really accurate. There are a few people I don't really get along with, but I'm perfectly fine with most of the staff.

You're part of many fansubs groups, how do you balance the workload ? Is it based on the show you like or something ?
I don't do a show for every group every season, so it really just depends on what's airing and who else wants to work on it. I'm probably going to concentrate mostly on Vivid going forward though.
As far as the individual shows go, the trick is just to get everything done as it airs without letting things pile up from week to week.

Speaking of nicknames, where did "Xythar" come from?
Back when I was like 12-13 (so late 90s), I was trying to get into a MUD (anyone remember those?) that required people to use an "original fantasy-sounding name" for what I guess was atmosphere and role-playing purposes. I made this name up on the spur of the moment and stuck with it ever since.
Funnily enough, I never actually got into that MUD. My account got rejected with "No X- and Z-names please", which wasn't even in the rules...
