Just to make it clear,I don't say a translation should be as literal as possible or the like.I started with "That translation drama" to point out that you guys take it no less autistic than all those anons,feeling kinda offended for no real reason.That's why I said a simple translation is still fine

That wasn't really my point, though. I'm saying that the reasons people give to produce these translations are logically faulty.

Well, all I'm saying is you can watch and enjoy a show quite carefree just by having a (rough) orientation, that way you can even adapt better to the language. The more you go out of your way "twisting" words the more unnatural it will appeal.

There's no "twisting" here. My point is that by trying to be "faithful" to the source, people often deviate even further from it.

Hey, to be fair, not every American comedy is Two and a Half Men. There's some pretty good stuff out there.

to that anon: what if you were reading a novel -or any book for that matter-? you can't read expressions or hear the characters. you will only read a text that does not make sense whatsoever. translation is NOT about being literal.

That does stand out to me as a highlight, but overall, I'd say the end of episode 10. Amazing stuff.

That translation drama. With a functioning mind, all it takes is a literal translation to process what you see and hear, by knowing the character, reading expressions, trusting your ears etc. E.g. there hasn't been a joke so far I found more amusing just because it was phrased cleverly.

But that's not translation. That's doing half the work and telling your audience to laugh because it's funny.
The original audience of the show doesn't need to do any of those things to enjoy it, so why should you?

when you edit and QC a show, do you watch the episode twice? and then when you batch the series at the end, you watch it for the third time? if that's the case, how the fuck can you stand watching the same thing 3 times? especially if the show sucks? i dont remember watching any show more than once!

Yes, I do (and again for the BDs if I do them). Though I don't usually rewatch the show for the batch unless I really like it (eg Uchouten or Amaburi). You can also add another watch on if it's a show I'm simulwatching with friends.
I had to fill in as timer for a few Aldnoah episodes which meant I had to go through the same episode three times in one day. It was suffering.
Counting my initial watch, showing it to other people, the movies, and working on the Meguca subs myself, I think I've seen Madoka at least six times.

How long does QC usually take?

Usually about an hour to QC and release if there isn't much to fix and I don't get distracted
