What drives you? I'm just curious what's your motivation that keeps you going forward. What do you hope to achieve, what is your big dream, passion, whatever you want to call it

I like fansubbing

maryoku: mana or magical energy?

Mana is a lot shorter in length, which is important, especially in subs.

Do you prefer watching anime week-by-week or when it's finished?

Week by week or it's hard to get done

Is GJM the new UW or Vivid, always getting blue?

It's not hard to always get blue if you simply focus on releasing competent subs for shows where you have no competition

>Bunny girl is pretty cute and not as useless as some other hair color changing one. Please, useless bunny was not useless

Welllll

too bad last i checked their player can't handle \frz so this was literally done solely for the benefit of horriblesubs viewers

>read the asks about how to handle "yuki" >first thing to instantly come to mind is /a/ complaining "BUT KYON ONLY SAYS 'YUKI'". I'm tainted.

The first step to making good subs is not caring what /a/ thinks

Sure, the premise is really cliche "demon god is going to reappear, so the good god assembles a team of 6 heroes" but beyond that it's pretty nice, the direction, art and OST are great, characters and VA work too. Bunny girl is pretty cute and not as useless as some other hair color changing one

Maybe at some point

How would you handle the "Yuki means snow" line in Disappearance of Haruhi? Would you add a TL note? Would you make it "Snow" and hope the viewers hear that Kyon says "Yuki"? The dub did it best, imo "Yuki. It means snow, right?" Of course that would be hard to put into subs since they just say Yuki

I'd do what the dub did. Incorporating "TL notes" like that into the dialogue is usually the least intrusive option.

do you mods have to moderate sukebei too?

We can, but we don't "have" to. herkz does but I don't really look at it.

How did no one pick up Rokka no Yuusha? I just watched the first two episodes and it's been amazing so far

idk, i haven't looked at it because i figured it was a generic fantasy shounen (albeit with a cute bunny girl)

Do you remember life without technology? What was it like?

Yes, I was literally alive in the middle ages, though really, technology existed even then, so what the fuck is this daily question ask.fm please
