What do You think about Non-English-translated anime groups retranslating english releases to their language (jap->eng->???) and remuxing english groups' releases?

They can do whatever they like, really. Not like we have any say in what our releases get used for once they're out there.
But I would recommend they at least use people who understand English slang or the results may be embarrassing

Nigga I have 6 MBs for download, be grateful for your 11s ;_;

It's the upload that really kills me. Like, I could do a TV encode in half an hour on my new CPU, but what's the point if it takes 2 hours to upload?
I'll probably just do BDs locally and sit around uploading them for days instead

Is Suisei no Gargantia worth it in 1080p and FLAC? It's like three times the size of the 720p version.

Dunno, I didn't encode it. Maybe? You could always compare, but I doubt you'll be missing out on much by grabbing the 720p if size is an issue.

How does it feel to be banned from Crymore? Have you already created an alias?

This is hardly the first time. Hopefully he won't cave and change it to a temp ban after like a day this time.

I don't see why people like literal translations, i guess they want to understand what's said in japanese even if it doesn't really make sense? instead of the equivalent for what's being said in english. I was just thinking of Commie's Twintails and the hate surrounding the translation for it.

I think they just like to treat anime as this otherworldly cultural artifact from a land so much different to their own

Is Sentai Filmworks terrible for getting BDs? I heard their subs have been absolutely terrible.

They're a mixed bag. I have their Persona 4 and it seems fine, but other shows probably aren't quite so good. I remember they screwed up pretty hilariously on the first episode of Girls und Panzer on BD (image was shifted slightly leading to gigantic black borders on two sides of the screen) and apparently nobody at the studio noticed.

After all that you've already done in fansubbing, has your motivation dropped at all? Do you see yourself continuing at least for another year?

Not really my motivation as much as the fact that I can't keep doing this forever. I'll probably do a lot less once I get a job, but I doubt I'll outright stop any time soon.

Tamako Love Story subs? Is anyone doing it? Coalgirls good enough?

Commie is doing it eventually. And no, probably not.

How should one go about watching Shigatsu? First 3 episodes from Kaylith and the rest from Commie?

I dunno, do whatever really

What's the progress on Fate stay Night episode 2 and 3?

@TLC. Everything else is done (well, I think 3 needs to be timed, but that won't take long)

Oh okay, since you said "fun" I thought you meant their script was heavily edited or something. 's all good.

Yeah, my bad.

>Now, now, I've been watching their Chaika since s1 and it's been fun. I'm pretty sure their Chaika release consists only on removing the "\N"s from CR's script.

Regardless of what goes into it, if the release is fine, it's fine (that 'fun' was a typo; meant to write 'fine' in the previous question too). It'd be kind of inconsistent of me to say otherwise.

So like "Damn you..." etc? Or am I off?

Kinda. Probably closer to "You little..." or "How dare you..." if anything

So, FUNimation tends to use "Why, you!" A lot. What other means does this line have?

It's just an generic expression of anger or frustration directed at someone. I've seen it used a lot for "omae na...", "anta ne..." etc

What's the deal with Inou Battle? When is that getting reviewed? Who would you suggest if it's already reviewed and neither Commie or FFF deserved blue?

Commie's release is solid. We were going to wait a bit longer until more releases are out, I think, since right now Commie is almost 2 weeks behind and FFF is like 4 weeks behind.

How are the symphogear G BDs coming along? Should I just watch your tv releases?

vol2 has been at torch for approximately forever. I still remind him about it multiple times a week.
If he decides he doesn't want to do it after all I'll just encode the rest myself, but we'll see. I wouldn't be able to work on it for another week or two anyway because I'll be busy with OVAs and trying to catch up on UBW (hopefully).
You can watch the TV release if you're impatient, but it has lots of issues.

Why would you even consider watching anything from A-K? There's a reason why your buddies don't give them A+. You really should just stick to CR. They can't even get the font right. In every show I've seen from them, it's been horrendous.

Now, now, I've been watching their Chaika since s1 and it's been fun. You can't paint whole groups with one brush, and that applies to groups like Akoi as much as it does to Commie. Doki and Hatsuyuki might even have a decent release out there... somewhere.

Who would you suggest for Gugure? Is A-K or CR better script wise? Idrc for the tsing and songs that much.

I wasn't too impressed with A-K's translation for ep1, so I'm watching my own release, [WatchableSubs]. Dunno if they improved or not after that.

Would you say most of the inane dialogue in Twintails is a result of fnord's TL or your editing?

Inane? Please, the dialogue in Twintails is some of the most deep and meaningful ever seen in anime.
I don't change all that much in the script, so the original scriptwriter and fnord get most of the credit.
